The color of the dot indicates the amount of rainfall recorded in the 36 hours before the time indicated in the pop-up information.

The map also displays the NWS Arkansas-Red Basin River Forecast Center's rainfall estimates (in color) across Oklahoma based on radar. Moving your cursor over a dot will reveal the gauge name and the amount of recorded rainfall.

The data shown is real-time rainfall data from SEPA's automated rain gauges, which take into account daily and monthly rainfall totals in all 42,000 zip codes in the USA and are calculated averages over a 10-year time frame. The rainfalls totals by zip code data set is available in an excel spreadsheet, containing aggregated historical rainfall amounts for each US zip code.
